Picture: Description: A dark brown cat that is swift on her feet. Her legs are long and muscular- and her fur is short up to her tail. Her ears are larger than most, and her whiskers match. She looks nothing like either of her parents, rather, her grandfather, Shard. Her eyes are a deep green color- Her pelt contrasting with this wonderfully. Her fur has a shiny quality to it, but it is not normally noticed. Like most all Shards cats, Lena is nocturnal, normally spending the daylight hours asleep. She has charcoal-black pads, and a black nose to boot.
Personality: Lena is a very cunning cat. Her attitude is completely sneaky- but she has a knack for avoiding suspicion. She, unlike the once-leader that she resembles so, cares about the Shards as a group, and has little concern for herself as a single cat. She has hatred for anyone outside her group, though, and finds the clans to be disorganized in their systems. She Trusts her cats with her gut, and most of her decisions are based on a few cats’ opinions. Although, she wasn’t always so careful; at one point in her life, she would make the cats go into battle at a moment’s notice. She can easily kill without worry of cat’s, or any other animal’s lives, and finds prey in the animals humans keep as Fresh-kill on farms. She has grand leadership skills, and a lust for power, but she is willing to take her time achieving her goals.
Her terms on other shards cats are quite straightforward. All cats can be useful somehow. They deserve to be treated as equals, unless they are somehow inferior. Her definition of inferior? Exclusions. If they have that title, they either deserve it or were born deserving it, in her mind. Any cat raised by an exclusion has the mind of an exclusion.
She has little curiosity for things such as Starclan. What was the point in having to depend solely on a bunch of dead cats, if they have no way of actually helping you? And the meetings the silly clan cats have? Like kits playing a game. She understands, though, their importance in giving new names to kits old enough to hunt. But- Anything afterwards is silly. Why would you re-name a cat just because it assumed an important position or grew old? Even if fatally-ill or elderly cats without the ability to hunt are excluded from shards, Lena has too much pride in them to make their names sound weak or pathetic.
History: Her parents, as it should be, were the Previous Ruler, Scale, and his mate. She was the one of three kits of the two, and was raised as a secondary from the day she turned five moons. Her father was proud of her; she resembled Shard himself in every flick of her tail, as he saw it anyways. Her siblings, both striped tabbies like their parents, envied her for being a favorite of their father. She was a bit oblivious though. Her mother died when she was two moons, and they were raised by a different queen- a neutral. Her father wasn’t exactly fazed by his mate’s death- he moved on quickly. It was figured by the other Shards cats, that Scale had a new mate only a few days afterwards.
Lena was raised by a secondary up until her five moons, and took the place of her adopted mother. She was a bit spoiled, but she learned fighting and hunting well. She had the duties of any secondary, but they all knew she was to take over at their leader’s death. He had named her his successor as soon as he saw the color of her pelt. He was killed not soon after her twelfth-moon mark, and she assumed the leader position at an extremely young age.
Her experience as leader was barely that of her father’s when he assumed the position, but her confidence gained the other cat’s support. The Shards knew that she was more reckless then her father, they had heard her complain about never attacking anyone, and they found a sort of reassurance of the shards’ power within her. It wasn’t long before they were dragged into a battle with the neighboring clan, Shadowclan, and won a strip of land at the top of their vast territories. This made them think. If they could beat them again for sure! But they attacked without thought of the clans’ possible cooperation.
The attack was quick. Lena figured that they could wipe out the entire clan -with the exception of the kits- and take the territory before moonhigh. But, they had four out of five clans; all but Riverclan waiting for them. They were chased out, and Lena had to reconsider her strategies. She has been more careful since that point, of course, and planned her next attack with expert coordination. They struck Shadowclan again, and this time claimed more of their land; a small chunk in the northeast side, leaving Shadowclan of a warning for future advances.
Lena has taken a break though, just recently from any attacks. It has been about twelve moons since their last advance on the clans, as Lena focuses to expand Shards and strengthen her cats. She has not a mate, or any kits, which worry her secondarys of whom will be her successor.
